on 22nd march 2001, "guyanese in america are" was started as an msn web community. the creator was a person who could not ignore any longer the embarrassing behaviour of so many guyanese in america. this behaviour misrepresents guyanese as a people easily changed by material possibilities, and misrepresents guyana as a land to be ashamed of and so run from.

since then, i have learned a lot. i have had many realisations. i have managed to question many other issues, and have tried to understand them. i realised that the name of the site "guyanese in america are" was now misleading, because many more truths about guyana and guyanese were being (and would be) examined.
in february, 2002, the decision was made to move the site to tripod, under the name guyanatruth. there were quite a few reasons for the move. this tripod site opened on 12 may 2002.
i have now listed the issues that most concern me. this sounds like the issues are purely personal. they are, but they're also important to all guyanese. i'll try to give each issue equal attention.
