guyana lives. america lives better.
compared with the incidents a couple of months
ago, we should be pleased with our country's present.
guyana airways 2000 is folding, which seems
to be a 21st-century-version of the good-intentioned guybus. remember
that?
i dislike airlines. a person who desires a trip
to guyana, pays more, much more depending on how long he/she stays
-- a maximum of us$1000 in fact.
so we are paying not only for the hundreds of
gallons of gasoline that will be burnt to take us home; not only
for the pounds of food and plastics that can't be reused, due
to international policies, and must be wasted into rubbish; not
only for the megawatts of electricity that are used for things
such as the illumination of small switches, that make us feel
comfortable about pressing otherwise dull plastic; we are, in
fact, paying to stay on the land of our birth.
well, enough about that. i'm sure they have
reasons why they waste vast resources on unnecessary luxuries.
there are about 700 cruise ships that float
the seas of earth. the maximum cost of a cruise liner such as
this is about 700 million dollars. an utter waste of earth's resources.
i wish to be reborn in a time when humans do
not drain their environment of all its life to satisfy their needs
for vacation, relaxation and other cravings.
if we were not to consume all our resources
to appease ourselves, we may have used these immense amounts of
currency to help humankind...a cure for aids may have already
been achieved through more funding, giving educated men more reward
for their research; poverty may have been a word that only the
old people used -- the concept of poor would not exist; the possibilities
would now seem surreal.
with every scene that our eyes inhale, we see
hundreds of things that we can do without, things that are unnecessary,
but yet they are produced to "make life a little bit better".
i'm in the process of learning to say what i
have to without curses. aircrafts and cruise ships are just two.
with thought, one can make an unending list.
i am aware that all this has nothing to do with
the title of this site. it doesn't matter.
i worry every day about the eventual extinction
of mankind and his earth. we guarantee this future with every
wasted drop of resource.
just think about it. no one will know.
i will stop writing this now. if i do not, i'll
become overwhelmed and type harsh words.
i remain your socialist, your environmentalist,
and your bastard.

a few weeks ago, i
wrote about an organisation called 'guyana, usa!'. quite unbelievable
to me is that they are "dedicated to the legal incorporation
of guyana into the usa."
i'm very sure that it isn't just me who feels that they are completely
ignorant of the consequences of such an incorporation. did these
persons just wake up and follow some unconscious to a murky gathering
place where only the low and rejected huddle? was it here that
they decided to toy with what we fought for so long, our independence?
well if we're going to offer ourselves once again to those "crazy
baldheads", we might as well offer the queen mum of britain,
her former role as plantation owner, since she may have some sort
of compassion towards her good ol' slaves.
it is too easy to see what would happen if we were attached to
the u.s. in any way. take puerto rico for example...i like to
call it 'the virgin offering', they practically opened wide and
screamed blindly, "com' on in!".
and now they struggle to defend vieques, an uninhabited area of
puerto rico used by the u.s. navy for military exercises. they
climbed atop the statue of liberty to protest, there were violent
protests at vieques itself, and now al sharpton is on a hunger
strike in jail, but little has changed. even if things improve
now, look at what puerto rico has to do to get attention from
their captor.
i gave mention to this organisation again because a friend of
mine found a small postcard of sorts (see below), advertising
their website. i was very surprised and angered to know that this
trash was seeping into my habitat, and i thought it was something
important to mention -- the disguised colonisation of guyana coming
via postcard to a most unexpected place near you!
most likely, this is old news to you.

the front of the flyer.

the back of the flyer. you may have
seen one of these already.
