today, with no regrets, i turn 18.
now, the legal world feels that im ready
to make decisions for myself, when ive been doing this to
survive since i was 12.
at this moment, my mind is occupied with the
new guyanatruth site, and academics because the end of the term
is near, things accelerate -- like the last lap of a race is always
the most difficult.
id like to thank every single person who
has participated so far, either to encourage me with words that
lifted my spirit for days, or to inform me of their opinions that
i am always grateful for. your support means a lot to me, because
with these issues comes a lot of discouragement.
so, today i turn 18 and i dont feel different.
maybe its because the things you are now allowed to do when
youre 18, are things not worth doing at all.
i first came to america in 1995, i think. i
moved constantly to and from america for reasons i dont
know. on 30 september 2000, i left guyana -- after the c.x.c.
exams -- to come here for college, knowing that id be here
for a long time, though my intent was not permanence. so ive
been here for about 19 months and i feel old and tried. i have
learned a lot and forgotten an important little.
i believe strongly in what i say, and ill
try all i can to help the guyanese nation.
now, less time for me.

the new guyanatruth site opens.
today, the new site opens. i'm positive that this new medium will
allow a better environment to talk about the issues.
the technical part of guyanatruth is almost
finished. after things stabilise, the more progressive activities
of the site can dominate.
a good place to start right now would be the
about section (revised, a little),
best viewed section, as well
as the contact page. i would
really like to know what you think of the site, so mail me.
also, the new message board forum is a very
good one with extensive features. the only drawback is the amazing
amount of ads, for which i
proposed a plan.
also, visit the guest
articles section to learn the reward for sending in an essay
or such.
there are a few parts of the site (in the 'writings
on issues' section) that are still being developed. please bear
with me.
so for now i hope that everyone finds the site
to be sufficient enough for its purpose. i am determined to make
updates at least every two days, though i will deliberately leave
this first message for a longer time.
i might be going to guyana in the first week
of june, for about two and a half months, but more on that when
it's confirmed. if i do go, i'll surely do a lot of writing for
the site during my time in heaven.
